Advanced Stencil Coating for Better Paste Release
MicroShield OC-1500 is an advanced on-contact hydrophobic and oleophobic coating designed for solder paste stencils. It instantly improves paste release, enhances deposit profiles, reduces bridging, and lowers cleaning frequency, helping to increase efficiency and consistency in SMT production.
Application is simple: dispense 0.25 oz (7 mL) onto a folded lint-free applicator and spread in a circular motion, focusing on apertures. After two minutes, buff the surface for 90 seconds to remove any residue. An electric palm buffer can be used with a dry applicator cloth to reduce effort while maintaining coverage.
The coating forms a chemically bonded nano-layer at the surface, creating a durable, abrasion-resistant finish. Unlike conventional polymer coatings, it works instantly on contact and can continue to improve over time. Its nanometer-thin layer preserves the measurable properties of the underlying metal while providing lasting performance.
MicroShield is supplied as a multi-use kit, including 250 mL of coating, 250 mL of primer, and lint-free applicator cloths—enough to coat approximately three stencils.
